Biography

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  My parents and grandparents were Christians.  My younger brother, Craig, is an engineer and lives in Tomball, Texas.  My younger sister, Jan, is an OR nurse in Oklahoma City.  They are active in their churches.  Each of them has three children.  My wife is Jenny.  All of the children are grown and very active in their respective church families.  Dayna is the oldest.  She has two children - Jennifer (16) and Caitlin(13).  Her husband is Mark.  They are active members of First Baptist Church of Plano, Texas.  Libby has two boys - Austin (12) and Matthew (7).  Her husband is Scott.  They are active members of Firewheel Community Church in Rowlett, Texas.  Libby is on the church staff, serving in the Children’s Ministry.  Brett II is the youngest.  He has two daughters - Courtnie(12) and Kennedy (7).  They are active members of First Baptist Church, Erlanger, Kentucky.  I accepted Christ as my Saviour at the age of 9 and was baptized on Easter Sunday of 1952.  Northwest Baptist Church of Oklahoma City licensed me to the Gospel Ministry on September 6, 1960.  I received my education at Oklahoma Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  My work background includes a few years in the oil fields of Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico.  I also worked on natural gas pipeline construction crews.  I have served churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Connecticut and Florida.  The first opportunity for full time service was First Baptist Church, Eunice, Louisiana where I served as Associate Pastor of Education and Youth.  I served as pastor of Chisholm Baptist Church in Texas while in seminary, and was Associate Pastor of Education and Administration at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville Beach, Florida before coming to Lutz.  Missions is in my heart as well as administration.  By nature the ministries God has called me to are “behind the scenes” ministries and that suits me just fine.  It is a joy to serve with this staff and a blessing to be a part of this loving and friendly congregation. We have the calling and unfettered opportunity to share Jesus with those in Lutz, Florida, the USA and around the world.  Our church family has a vision for reaching Jerusalem, Judea and the uttermost parts of the world with the Gospel.
