Resources For Parents

PARENT RESOURCES

The Next Gen Ministry at FBC Lutz aims to equip students in their pursuit of God through Jesus Christ. And we know that YOU are the most important person in your student’s life. You will have the greatest impact on their spiritual journey. For that reason, we want to encourage your student and your family. We are here for you! Here are some helpful resources for you as a parent:

PARENT CUE APP

Parent Cue is a free app to download on your phone, in which you can add your child/student and it will give you helpful articles/blogs in ways you can talk with and engage with your kids spiritually. There are also blogs about the culture that your kids and students live in. This app is helpful no matter your child/student’s age and will cater to their specific age group.

For the kids especially, you can sync with our church. Just type in “FBC Lutz” when it asks for the church name and it will line up with the children’s curriculum that we are currently going through.

To download the app, just click the button below! If you want more information about Parent Cue, click the learn more button!

WITHIN REACH

“In a new study, LifeWay Student Ministry and LifeWay Research have partnered to identify the factors that are contributing to this disturbing trend as well as those factors that contribute to teens staying in church”

BOUNDARIES WITH TEENS

Dr. Townsend shows you how to: • deal with disrespectful attitudes and impossible behavior in your teen • set healthy limits and realistic consequences • be loving and caring while establishing rules • determine specific strategies to deal with problems both big and small. Boundaries with Teens can help you establish wise and loving limits that make a positive difference in your adolescent, in the rest of your family, and in you.

REAL-LIFE DISCIPLESHIP

With a thorough, results-oriented process that can be applied in other contexts and cultures, this manual explains the necessary components of disciple-making so that every church member can play a part in reaching others for Christ.

Parenting
Parenting

“In this life-giving book, Paul Tripp offers parents much more than a to-do list. Instead, he presents us with a big-picture view of God’s plan for us as parents. Outlining fourteen foundational principles centered on the gospel, he shows that we need more than the latest parenting strategy or list of techniques. Rather, we need the rescuing grace of God—grace that has the power to shape how we view everything we do as parents.”

Shepherding a Child’s Heart

“Shepherding a Child’s Heart is about how to speak to the heart of your child. The things your child does and says flow from the heart. Luke 6:45 puts it this way: “…out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.” Written for parents with children of any age, this insightful book provides perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child’s heart into the paths of life.”

The Meaning Of Marriage

“Modern culture would have you believe that everyone has a soul-mate; that romance is the most important part of a successful marriage; that marriage does not mean ’til death do us part, but merely for as long as my needs are being met; and that when serious differences arise, divorce is the best solution.

According to the bible, all of these modern-day assumptions miss what marriage is all about. In The Meaning of Marriage, Timothy Keller, along with Kathy, his wife of thirty-six years, draws a profound portrait of marriage from the pages of Scripture that neither idealizes nor rejects the institution but points us back to the relationship between God and man. The result is a vision for marriage that is refreshingly frank and unsentimental, yet hopeful and beautiful.”
